2002 BOB SCULLY PA OF THE YEAR
DULCY YAHRAUS, PA-C
The Florida Academy of Physician Assistants Board of Directors presented Dulcy
Yahraus with the Bob Scully PA of the Year Award for 2002. The presentation was
made at the Annual Membership Luncheon on August 9th, 2002 at the Annual Summer
Conference at Marco Island. The award is sponsored by Novartis Pharmaceuticals
and the presentation was made by Mr. Eric Burke from Novartis. She received a beautiful
plaque and a complete set of the Netter collection with this honor.
Dulcy Yahraus is an excellent choice for PA of the Year. Dulcy has been active
in FAPA since her days as a student, and served as the Student Representative to
the Board of Directors. In spite of her obligations as a student, Dulcy performed
admirably on the Board and made an impression there from the beginning. She has
continued to remain involved in FAPA and professional activities since that time.
She became an Area Representative after beginning her practice as a PA.
Dulcy has been very active in her job as an Area Representative. She has organized
ten to twelve CME dinners locally each year. Last year she organized the the "first annual"
West Central Regional CME Day as PA Day activity and successfully raised about $2,000 for
FAPA that year. She is working hard on this year's second annual event and promises that
it will be bigger and better.
Dulcy has been active in recruiting other FAPA members to become involved in local matters.
She has eagerly responded to any request for information or request for help from local
PAs and the FAPA leadership. She has always displayed an energetic "can do" attitude in whatever
job she tackles. She is working with others now to learn the responsibilities
of Area Representative so that someone is groomed to take her place when she decides to
progress further in a FAPA leadership position.
It goes without saying the Dulcy Yahraus is very deserving to receive this
award and it is a most fitting honor due her for her years of service to the PA profession,
and most of all to the PAs in Florida and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
Congratulations Dulcy, and "Thank You" on behalf of the membership of the Florida Academy.
By Ron Pace, PA-C President Elect
