Online Donation Forms Have Changed
On the FAPA website, www.fapaonline.org, we have informational articles about the 2004 P.R.I.D.E. Campaign, the Political Action Committee (the PAC), and the FAPA Foundation. Each article explains the purpose of each entity and includes an online donation form that you can access and make a donation to that entity online using a credit card. The form you complete is sent to the FAPA office where the staff charges the authorized donation to the credit card you chose to use. FAPA takes VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. We also use this same system for people to register for the FAPA conferences online as well. Remember the FAPA website is a secure site. At the end of June 2004 we completed changing the donation forms to allow you to authorize monthly deductions for a set period of time. We realize that many of you would like to make a larger financial donation to the Foundation, the PAC, and the PRIDE Campaign but do not want to make it all at once. The AAPA has done a similar program for the PA Foundation in their “25 for 25 Campaign” but uses an automatic checking account deduction process. If you have online banking services with your personal checking account you can set it up to make a monthly donation. For instance with Bank of America you would simple create a Payee account and tell them how much to send each month and what date to send it on and the bank automatically sends the check each month. You can do this by choosing the FAPA Foundation, The PAC, or the PRIDE Campaign as the Payee and use the FAPA Headquarters address to send the check to each month. This way you are treating your donation as a bill you would pay automatically each month. Quick, simple and painless. You will note at the bottom of the online donation forms that you can now indicate your choice of making a single donation for a specific amount as we have always done, or you can indicate a specific amount to be charged to a specified credit card on a monthly basis. You indicate what month and year it is to start and the month and year it is to stop as well. For many folks this will be easier to handle financially. The FAPA office will charge that amount on a monthly basis to the credit card account you have indicated for the time period specified on the online donation form you complete. And they will email you each month to let you know that the charge was made as authorized. We hope that many of you will take advantage of this new service to assist you in contributing to the Academy programs that depend on your donations to support their activities.
