Political Action Committee

The Political Action Committee (PAC) of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants is a legal registered entity in the state of Florida. It is a Committee for Continuous Existence, a PAC as it is more commonly called. It consists of some six Physician Assistants and our Legislative Consultants, Juhan and Pat Mixon in Tallahassee.

Their function is to lobby the state legislators in regards to all matters that affect the Physician Assistant profession in this state, and in health care issues upon which the Physician Assistant community can have some impact. The PAC solicits contributions from the members of the Academy and interested parties to assist us in funding these activities. A lot of hard work goes into this effort to select and support those candidates.

The PAC is assisted by local grass roots Physician Assistants in providing support to state candidates who express interest and have shown support for the PA profession in its' legislative efforts. This support comes in the form of financial support from the PAC, and soliciting members in the legislators' area to help in their campaigns.
