Campaign 2002 Is Here!
Well, it's 2002 and almost time for another election cycle! Last year the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants asked members to support a "grassroots" effort to help get selected candidates elected. This year we will need your time and support more than ever. As you know, politics in Florida 2001 were highly competitive. But our grassroots campaign was very successful in giving our Academy the voice and recognition to propose and pass issues that were important to us. By being politically involved we stand up and force the legislature to recognize your presence. Once again, we need your support. Please consider to volunteer your time so that we may have a voice to speak on behalf of our Academy. We are, at present, getting names together of those who would be willing to volunteer their time to assist in campaing activities in their state district elections. The FAPA Political Action Committee (PAC) will be meeting to compile a list of candidates to support in 2001. The candidates will need a great deal of assistance and support to compete with their opponents who may not have the best interests in mind for physician assistants. YOU can help our presence be felt. We need your contributions in the form of financial donations, and volunteering to help selected candidates locally in their campaigns. Help our presence be felt, contribute in some way to the PAC. The PAC will be meeting at the summer conference at Marco Island to consider the list of candidates for office in 2002.
