2004 FAPA Annual Recertification Review
&
Winter Symposium

February 18-22, 2004
Grosvenor Resort
1850 Hotel Plaza Blvd.
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830

The FAPA Conference Planning Committee has put together another outstanding conference. It will offer 46 hours of Continuing Medical Education (AAPA Category I approval pending) with the possibility of obtaining 32 hours of CME if one attends all lectures that one can. The program has been approved for 32 hours of contact hours by the Florida Board of Nursing also.

Lectures will include the state required courses for license renewal on HIV Update, Domestic Violence, and the two hour Medical Errors Course. The three hour Prescriptive Practice Course (required for initial prescribing license application) will be available also thru self study. We have some excellent lectures planned. You won't want to miss the Medical Pearles lectures with Dr. Mort Diamond, MD from Nova Southeastern University. We will have a mock recertification exam for those who desire to test their skills. And as boring as some people may feel it might be, we guarantee the Medical Errors lecture by Steve Cohen, PA-C, will be very informative and enlightening and one no one will want to sleep through. And the Domestic Violence lecture is a real eye opener as well. And we will offer a FAPA Town Hall Meeting for everyone to learn about what is happening in Florida on the political arena that may affect PAs practicing here.

There will be some free time to enjoy local attractions too for those who care to do so. The Preliminary Program for the Winter Symposium is available online. It was mailed the second week in December to members and those on the mailing list. Here is a link to an online copy of the preliminary program brochure:

This year's conference resort hotel is near the Walt Disney World theme parks, the Disney village and Pleasure Island complex. Come on down and enjoy some great CME and a respite from the "cold, wet snowy" North! And you will not have to dig out of any snow while you are here, that we can promise.
