Annual Awards
Physician Recognition Award Purpose:
Entry/Nominations Procedure:
1. Must have knowledge and show support of the PA concept through direct professional
involvement.
2. Must have directly contributed to PA professional growth
through formal or informal association with physician assistants in current medical
practice.
3. Must set high standards of conduct and ethical behavior in patient care.
4. Should have distinguished himself and herself as highly
supportive of the PA profession through his or her performance and contribution to the
physician/PA team concept.
Nominations should be sent by June 1 of each year to: Bob Scully Award - Physician Assistant of the Year
Purpose:
Entry/Nominations Procedure:
Nominations should be sent by June 1 of each year to: Following nomination, the Elections & Nominations
Committee will notify the nominee of information that should be submitted by the June 1
deadline:
1. Narrative statement describing the nominee's humanitarian activities and how
he/she has furthered the positive image of the PA profession and its dedication to
accessible and quality healthcare.
2. Curriculum vitae.
3. Supporting materials (i.e., news clippings, letters of
recommendation) that the nominee believes will strengthen the application.
4. Two letters of reference related to the exemplary service.
Judging Procedure:
Humanitarian Physician Assistant of the Year
Purpose:
Entry/Nominations Procedure:
Nominations should be sent by June 1 of each year to: Following nomination, the Elections & Nominations
Committee will notify the nominee of information that should be submitted by the June 1
deadline:
1. Narrative statement describing the nominee's
humanitarian activities and how he/she has furthered the positive image of the PA
profession and its dedication to accessible and quality healthcare.
2. Curriculum vitae.
3. Supporting materials (i.e., news clippings, letters of
recommendation) that the nominee believes will strengthen the application.
4. Two letters of reference related to the humanitarian
activities.
5. A statement agreeing that if selected as the winner,
he/she will participate in the preparation of an article featuring humanitarian
activities.
Judging Procedure:
Lifetime Achievement Award This award is presented by the Board of Directors of the Academy on special occasions as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors in consideration of special achievement and contributions to the PA profession. FAPA Foundation Scholarship Award This award is presented annually to a student selected through a selection protocol
established by the FAPA Foundation Board of Trustees.
