FAPA Foundation
WHAT WE ARE__________
The Florida Academy of Physician Assistants Foundation (FAPAF) was established in 1998 as
the charitable partner of the FAPA. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the
delivery of quality health care by supporting charitable, scientific, literary or
educational programs.
The FAPAF is a tax-exempt organization, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, and all
contributions are tax deductible. The Foundation is supported entirely by grants and
donations. It seeks financial support from business, industry, philanthropic foundations,
and individuals to fund core mission programs.
WHAT WE DO__________
Scholarships: A core activity of the FAPAF is to provide assistance to FAPA student members
in Florida PA programs with the financial burden of medical education. Financing PA
education is always a challenge. We are now in our sixth year of awarding scholarship
grants to exceptional students. The number of scholarships provided each year is based
on available funds. In 2006 we awarded four scholarships in the amount of
$2,500 each at the Summer Conference in Marco Island at the Annual Membership Luncheon.
The recipients of the Foundation Scholarships for 2007 are:
Summer Bardia (Barry University - St. Pete Campus)
Kristin Rygg (University of Florida)
Victor Quinones (Miami Dade College)
Isaac Hauk (University of Florida)
Lindsey Blankenship (Barry University)
Florida PA students in their second year of training are encouraged to apply for the Scholarship program.
In 2008 the Foundation will award up to eight (8)
scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each.

integral part of the FAPAF mission to improve the health status of all Floridians.
Over the past several years we have been pleased to provide support to a number of groups:
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Connor’s Nursery
Guadalupe Social Services
The Volunteers in Medicine Clinic
FAPA Bike Helmet Campaign
Katrina Relief Fund
AAPA Host City Prevention Campaign
