NSU-Naples Students Involved in Local Health and Career Fairs
Nova Naples students have recently been involved in both meeting the
needs of healthcare in the community and in exposing high school
students to the profession. You can read more and see pictures of their recent events

Physician Assistant Foundation Community-Based Projects Program
The AAPA Foundation will provide up to $2,500 in one-time seed money to new and expanding community-based projects. This
program supports projects that will focus on community-based initiatives through service, education, and/or research.
Applications will be considered for projects organized by practicing PAs or PA students in cooperation with faculty sponsors. All
applicants must be members of AAPA.

Miami-Dade PA Program Finishes 2nd in AAPA Challenge Bowl in San Antonio
In an exciting AAPA Challenge Bowl involving several school teams in San Antonio
on May 26th, the PA Students representing Miami-Dade College (Victor Quinones,
Jeffrey Abrucay, and Oswaldo Franco) reached the Final Round of the competition
and managed to finish 2nd place. The competition was won by the PA student team
from DeSales University. Miami-Dade's students, who were fresh off winning the
2nd Annual FAPA Challenge Bowl this past February, showed great chemistry on the
stage, playing remarkably well as a team when under pressure to come up with
answers to some very challenging questions. CONGRATULATIONS MIAMI-DADE!!!

Congratulations!
Congratulations to the Barry University- St. Petersburg Campus for obtaining the highest student membership percentage of all the Florida PA Programs. Representatives from the Barry-St. Pete Class of 2009 were recognized at the 2007 FAPA Leadership Conference on November 3rd for having the largest program membership percentage at 87.5%, and an award plaque was presented to the class by South Region Director Greg Burns on behalf of FAPA. WAY TO GO BARRY- ST.PETE!!!

Walda Lora, a Nova Naples 1st Year student who is a member of the FAPA cultural diversity
committee, attended a health panel at FSU as part of the MAPS (Minority
Association of Pre-Health Students) on October 18th, 2007.
