Dear Colleagues,

Happy Thanksgiving Week to you.

As you can see by our FAPA Facebook page, your leaders, committee chairs, fellow PAs and PA students are continuously engaging in activities to promote our profession and increase our presence in our local communities.Thank you for the donations for the students impacted by the hurricanes. The outpouring has been humbling.

This month, I would like to highlight two committees:

1) Legislative Executive Committee (LEC), co-chaired by Ricardo Morales and Aila Rawlins.

Click here to view their web page.

We have Legislative Days in Tallahassee on Thursday, January 18, to Friday, January 19, 2018. Our LEC is co-chaired by Ricardo Morales and Aila Rawlins.

2) The Political Action Committee (PAC). Our FAPA PAC, led by Grace Bryan, is continuing to meet with legislators on healthcare committees.

Click here to donate and join the PAC 25.

Corrine Mixon and the Rutledge-Ecenia team are making sure our priorities are heard. I encourage you to get involved locally by introducing yourself to your legislators and making yourself a resource for any PA-related questions.

Click here for a message from Ms. Mixon on the Two bills FAPA may fight in the 2018 Florida Legislative Session.

The Physicians for PA Continuing Education (PPACE) is seeking a PA and/or PA/MD Team to develop a lecture series for the next Controlled Substance prescribing course. Experience in Pain Management, Addiction Medicine, Pharmacology and/or prior speaker experience is helpful. If interested, please send your CV to

Please also check out the happenings of our Cultural Diversity Committee (CDC), led by Stephanie Rivera. The CDC is looking for short essays on topics to educate our PA community.
