The Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA) is deeply saddened by the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, teachers, families, first responders, and medical personnel who are dealing with this senseless tragedy.

As Physician Assistants, we entered this field to help people to heal, strengthen, cure disease and serve our communities. Our hearts go out to the families of victims and the injured who are currently undergoing medical treatment. In the coming days and weeks, we know the PAs in the state will physically be on hand to help in whatever ways are needed.PAs have always stepped up in times of crisis and we would also like to thank those PAs who were directly involved in treating the injured.

FAPA is here to support the Florida students in that community and their families.

With sincere sympathy,

Susan and the Leadership of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants
