Legislative Priorities:

Advocacy for Practice: Engage in legislative efforts allowing PAs in Florida to practice to the full extent of their education and training, including prescription authority, and reduction of regulation, that hinder timely access to healthcare, safeguarding economic opportunities, and supporting free market access in healthcare.

Legislative Reform: Advocate for legislative reforms that enhance PA practice, such as improving reimbursement rates, reducing administrative burdens and ensuring fair representation in healthcare policy discussions

Educational Initiatives: Develop and support initiatives aimed at educating legislators and policy makers about the role and capabilities of PAs, emphasizing their contributions to patient care and healthcare delivery.

Collaboration with Healthcare Organizations: Foster partnership with healthcare organizations, medical societies, and other stakeholders to promote the integration of PAs into various healthcare settings and ensure optimal patient care.

Patient Safety and Quality Care: Advocate for policies that prioritize patient safety and quality care, including standards for PA education, licensure, and continuing education requirements.

Workforce Development: Support efforts to address, workforce shortages by advocating for incentives to attract and retain PAs and medically, underserved areas of Florida such as loan repayment programs, and practice incentives.

Access to Healthcare: Work towards improving access to healthcare for all Floridians by promoting policies that utilize PAs to their full potential, especially in medically undeserved areas where kindly access to healthcare providers may be limited.

Legislative Monitoring & Response: Monitor proposed legislation that could impact PA practice and healthcare delivery and respond with informed advocacy and lobbying efforts as needed.
